![]() Yesterday we celebrated European Day of Languages across the school with Year 3 exploring Spain. Dressed in red and yellow, the colours of the Spanish flag, we researched Spain and even learned some Spanish. In the morning, we found Spain on the map, learned about some of its famous cities and flamenco dancing. With the help of some wonderful songs, we practised the numbers to 10 and the colours in Spanish - even playing bingo in Spanish! In the afternoon, we looked at the artwork of Joan Miró and created our own Surrealist drawings inspired by his work. What a wonderful day! 3C practising the colours in Spanish A brief reminder that on Friday 4th October (a week today!) we are going to Colchester Castle so please can all children have pack lunches as we will be out for the entire school day. Also, if you do have any spare yogurt pots or old shirts that could be used for art shirts we would greatly appreciate them. Thanks in advance. Have a lovely weekend. The Year 3 Teachers In year 3 we are in need of some large, old T-shirts or shirts that the children can use when painting in Art. If you have any that you wouldn't mind donating to the year group then please pass them to one of the year 3 teachers.
With art in mind, we are also looking to collect yogurt pots for one of our projects. If you could send in any used but clean yogurts pots we would really appreciate it. Thank you in advance The Y3 Team In Science we are looking at Forces. This week we have focused on the concept of pushes and pulls. We watched these clips to try and discover the many different pushes and pulls in the world around us.

Thank you to all of you who made it for Meet the Teacher this afternoon, it was lovely to see so many of you. Please look on the school website to find the presentation and all Year 3 information.
All children have worked really hard this week and certainly must feel exhausted! We have started our new topic all about Romans. Why not have a look at the Roman homework for this term. There are lots of great tasks to complete. Please remember to bring your water bottle each day so that you can keep hydrated. Enjoy your weekend. Year 3 Teachers What a great first week in Year 3! The children have settled in well and have certainly enjoyed their summer break. We look forward to meeting as many of you as possible next Friday at Meet the teacher afternoon. PE - Please leave PE kits in school all week as we often add extra sessions of PE when time allows. 3C -Mon 3DH -Mon 3H -Weds This week we have been learning all about space. On Wednesday we made craters using flour, cocoa powder and marbles. Can you explain what a crater is? Can you tell someone about the space race? What is food like in space? See you next week.
