Its already been a week since our busy day at Colchester Castle... We learnt and saw so much about the Romans and Celts including what they wore, where they lived, and how they built their houses. the children thought it was very amusing that they used animal poo to strengthen the walls of the round houses! We had to work hard as a team to recreate and build a Roman villa and a round house, it was quite tricky to get all the pieces in the correct place. It felt great once we had finished and we had great fun going back in time pretending we were living in them. We were able to dress up as Roman soldiers, look at weapons they used and carry a shield around. We decided it would be a tricky job being a Roman and having to carry a heavy shield as well as a big sword. What a great day we had! Our trip has inspired our writing this week and we have written some wonderful recounts of our day. Comments are closed.
