We have had such a busy day today!
In English this week we are reading 'The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch.' In the story Mrs Grinling makes Mr Grinling delicious sandwiches for his lunch, but the seagulls keep eating his sandwiches! We made our own Lighthouse sandwich today! We thought carefully about how to make our jam sandwiches and then we ate them together this afternoon! Have a look at some of our photos! In Science today we thought about fish that live in the sea. We had a look at trout from a fishmonger and thought about what the trout looked, smelt and felt like. We talked about the different parts of a fish and looked at the similarities and differences between fish and humans! Then, we did some fantastic descriptive writing.

Today we made hardtack biscuits and experienced what sailors used to eat on long voyages a long time ago.
We used flour, water and salt to make our hardtack biscuits. We cooked them in the oven and then tasted them. They tasted salty and they were hard! Then, we tasted a digestive biscuit to compare and taste the difference. The digestive biscuit tasted a lot sweeter! Today we have been learning about fractions.
This morning in Maths, we made our own pizzas and we thought carefully about what fraction of our pizza was a particular topping! We used fractions such as 1/2, 1/4 and even 1/3! Have a look at some of our brilliant pizza fractions! |
