Well done to those of you who have already completed a piece of topic homework.
The shields and mosaics look great and I'm sure any Roman would be proud to have them! Well done too for those of you who have made delicious Roman cakes. Remember to complete at least one piece before half term and one afterwards. Timetable challenge How fast can you recall the 2,3,4,5 and 8 times tables? Keep learning them at home as we will be testing each other over the coming weeks. Try getting a grown up to ask you the following questions and time how long it takes to answer them! Can you get quicker? 4 x 3 = 7 x 2 = 10 x 9 = 5 x 6 = 3 x 10= 12 x 3 = 2 x 6 = This week we have been busy recapping some learning from Year 2 and moving our learning on. We have been using our place value knowledge to find 10p more/less and 100p more/less, We have been using the dienes cubes and place value counters to work out the new amounts. Here are some images from questions earlier this week. As the week progressed our learning got even trickier but we did not give up! Try these questions at home if you want a challenge.
Mrs Chrin had £1.25 but she spent 10p on chocolate. How much money did she have left? Phil had £12.06 and he dropped 200p on the floor. How much money did he have in his hand? Tim helped to sell some items at the car boot sale. He raised 230p and added it to the amount of £2.67. How much did he have in total? Have a good weekend! Mrs Chrin What a lot of learning we have done this week!
We have all enjoyed starting our new English book; 'Man on the moon'. Can you remember what Bob gets up to during the day? We have carried our space learning on in Science this week too! We have been learning about the moon and how it looks in the sky. We tried drawing it before our learning and afterwards. We could certainly see a difference in our drawings because of what we had been learning. The photos below show our class investigation on craters. Can you remember some of the super adjectives you used? How did we create the craters? Mrs Chrin Welcome back to the new school year! We have so much super learning in store for you. Did you have a wonderful holiday?
