Last Tuesday we visited Christchurch Park as part of our Geography topic 'weather experts'. We all had a wonderful time and it was sooo exciting! We learnt to use a real compass and gave each other directions to move around the park. Then we made 'leaf art' pictures with conkers, twigs and leaves. Finally, we had great fun in the play area! This week we had a very special visitor. To link with our Science topic of 'Healthy Me' and our termly career visitor - the school cook came to visit us in our class. We asked her thoughtful questions using loud, clear voices.
Here are some facts we learnt:
This week we have been reading Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson. We have been thinking about adjectives to describe the dragon. We had to write a letter to the witch to warn her about the dragon! We have been sharing lots of other stories too with our reading buddies. We just LOVE stories! Which is your favourite? We have been REALLY challenging ourselves this week with some super tricky maths work. Can you explain to your families all about partitioning? I bet your grown ups won't believe how hard you have been working. I wonder if they know all about 100s, 10s and units?
