The children were surprised with an Anglo-Saxon Day on Monday, where they spent the day immersed in all things Anglo-Saxon. We were very lucky that the children had the chance to meet a real Anglo-Saxon named Wolf (also known as Mr Wilson!) who brought in a multitude of artefacts to share with the children. In addition, the children wove sheep wool and dyed it using natural materials, they had a go at weaving and then made shields; these were used later in the day as you can see in the following photos. It was an exciting and informative day which the children all seemed to enjoy. A special thank you needs to go to Miss Markham who resourced many of the materials that the children used and who also had the unenviable task of cleaning the very smelly sheep wool of lots of dirt, twigs and poo!
