Last Friday the children ran solidly for half an hour and the stamina of many of the children was most impressive. Milly managed to run 20 laps in that time... I felt tired just counting them! I'm sure they slept well that night.
Class 4S and the other year 4 classes would like to invite you to our special Rainforest Music Assembly which will be held on Wednesday 27th March 2019. 10am - 10.30am in the North Hall.
Come along and enjoy listening to the songs we have been learning in, 4B's marvelous recorder playing, as well as hearing children read some of the fabulous descriptions of the rain forest that they have written during our Geography lessons. A retiring collection will be made to help subsidise our planned trip in the summer term to Kentwell Hall. Please come along and enjoy celebrating our achievements. I was so impressed with the effort that everyone went to today for World Book Day. The children - and Mrs Howlett - all looked great. During the afternoon we visited 1D and read to the children and shared their books. I was so proud of 4S who were excellent role models for the children and really enjoyed the experience.
As part of our science topic 'Teeth', this week the children investigated different types of toothpaste by assessing their smell, colour, how easily they shook off the toothbrush (this proved rather messy!) and how efficiently they could clean. The children had great fun and next week will write a letter to Ivor Cavity with their findings! They will also be attempting to make toothpaste!
This Thursday is World Book Day. We have discussed this in class and the children are excited about the day. As well as dressing up as a character from a book, we will also have the chance to share stories with 1D (Mrs Darroch's class), which will be a lovely experience for all of the children. To that end, if your child has a copy of the book that relates to the character they have chosen to dress up as, that would be great.
You should all have received a letter regarding the school trip that we have planned for the Summer Term. We are very excited to be going to Kentwell Hall, and although we appreciate that it is a little more expensive than our Autumn Term trip, we have cancelled a Spring Term trip to compensate. To maximise the learning experience, the children will need to dress up in Tudor costume (as will the adults!) and so you should have had additional information about this with the letter. Please don't spend too much time or money providing these costumes, but if you have any worries or concerns, please do get in touch. I have included this information below, in case you need to familiarise yourself with this. It should be an a amazing day learning all about the Tudors - we are all very excited about it, although it will require an early start if we are to get there on time! I will send a reminder to you nearer the time. ![]()
