For the last few weeks, we have been reading James and the Giant Peach.
We have learnt lots of new vocabulary (how many words can you remember?) and have imagined being James to write a diary entry. This week, we read up to chapter 8 where the two ghastly aunts have been inviting the public to come and see the peach and making a fortune out of it. Next week, we will be a reporter for the Rushmere Times to write a newspaper article all about this strange happening. In our topic this term we are leaning about Mountains, Rivers and Coasts.
This week, we had an email from Mrs Humphrey telling us that she is climbing Ben Nevis in May half-term and she was asking if we could tell her more about the mountain and what she should pack. The children wrote some excellent email replies, thinking carefully about the advice they gave Mrs Humphrey to ensure she has a successful hike. Read one of the replies below. We can't wait to find out how Mrs Humphrey gets on. |
