The swimming pool has been fixed and so swimming lessons can commence next week. 4S will be swimming last lesson on a Friday, so please make sure your child has an appropriate swimming costume (no bikinis or Bermuda style shorts), a swimming hat and a towel! Please can you make sure all of their equipment is named. There is an expectation that if your child is well enough to attend school, they are well enough to swim. There are obviously exceptions, so if you have any concerns or questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
As we are now in the Summer Term, new topic homework has been produced which links to the learning that the children will be undertaking this term. Although you should have all received notification of this via Parent Mail, I have uploaded a copy of the homework to the Year 4 page of the website and I have also attached a picture of it below. The expectation is that every child should compete at least one task each half term, but if you could encourage your child to complete more, that would be great! As always, if you have any queries or questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Yesterday in school, we were lucky to receive a visit from Pat Popat, a local dentist, who shared his knowledge of teeth with the children. This linked to our Science topic 'Teeth and the digestive system' that we were studying last half term. He was most knowledgeable and the children learnt lots of interesting facts about how to keep their teeth healthy. We also had the pleasure of seeing 'The Singing Dentist'!
We had a very successful rain forest exhibition in the secret garden on Wednesday. The rain stayed away and lots of visitors came! The animals looked fantastic and showed off the children's work brilliantly. Well done 4S!
