Firstly, thank you so much to all of you that managed to make it in to school today. Although it has been eventful because of the snow, it has also been very productive. I have attached examples of some of the work that has been completed today. Well done everyone! See you all tomorrow - whatever the weather!
Although this half term has been shorter than the previous term's it has felt just as long as we have been so busy and next half term promises to be just as action packed!
I wanted to say a big thank you to those of you that attended Parents' Evening - it was a fabulous turnout and I managed to see even more of you this time around. I hope you found the meeting productive and informative, but please remember that I am happy to speak with you at any time, so if you ever have any concerns or queries, don't hesitate to get in touch. For your reference, you will find all of the resources I prepared for you for both Parents' Evenings to support with your children's learning on the LKS2 web page. Finally it just leaves me to wish you all a happy (and hopefully restful!) half term holiday. Mad Science visited school this morning and the children had an 'electrifying' time exploring electricity - which the children have been learning about this half term. Below are a selection of videos and photos from this morning's fun... Thank you so much to those of you that attended the 4S Sharing Assembly last Friday. The children worked so hard planning what they wanted to share, and although it didn't quite go to plan (I'm sure no one noticed!) we were all so proud of what we produced! Thanks to Miss Markham, I have some photos from the assembly that I am able to share with you, so if you were unfortunate enough to miss it, hopefully you will now have an idea of how fabulous everyone was! We've been very lucky to have a visit today from Miss Beaumont, a dentist, who spent a lot of time sharing her job with the children and explaining why we need to look after our teeth. As you can see from the photos below, the children were engaged in a variety of exciting activities, including exploring foods that contain sugar. They were most surprised by some of the outcomes - especially when they learnt that the recommended daily allowance of sugar for a child is 24g, which is the same as one Fruit Shoot! We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to Miss Beaumont who prepared a lovely session and gave up her time to visit Year 4. Hopefully the visit was also inspirational for the children, as Miss Beaumont used to be a pupil at Rushmere Hall School; so maybe one or two of the children in 4S will feel inspired to pursue a career in dentistry! |
Year 6Each week we will update our blog with activities, pictures and comments on what we have been learning! Archives
