I just wanted to thank you all for your support over the year and your kind gifts and well wishes this week. I have loved teaching Year 4 this year and although I am biased, I do believe I have had the best class! All of the children have worked very hard and now thoroughly deserve their long Summer holiday - as do you! I will miss the children dreadfully, but I will still be keeping an eye on them next year as my Phase Leader role is changing so that I am now responsible for Years 4 and 5. To that end, if you ever have any queries or concerns next year, you are more than welcome to seek me out for a chat on the playground before or after school, or to contact me via the school office or email.
Thank you again. Wishing you all a restful and safe Summer Holidays.

The children had a lovely day earlier in the week when they immersed themselves into a range of Anglo Saxon activities which included making shields and helmets. I'm sure you'll agree that they look mighty fierce!
This week the children have designed and made money containers which have required them to demonstrate their sewing skills - which proved harder for some than others!
Below you can see the results of the children's efforts:
The children have had great fun this term in science learning all about bubbles. So far the children have investigated different bubble mixtures, bubbles in chocolate and have made sherbet. We concluded that bubbles in chocolate bars are just expensive air!
We had an amazing day at West Stow Anglo Saxon Village last week which really enhanced the children's understanding of Anglo Saxons. The trip was spent partly in the village itself and then in the museum where the children explored some fascinating artefacts.
Below are some photos from the day; I wonder if you can identify the faces behind the mask?
4S and 4M had a super day at Colchester Road Baptist Church where they had the opportunity to learn and play musical compositions with children from other schools. This was a great opportunity to showcase what the children have been learning during their music lessons all year. I was extremely proud of how well 4S sounded and also with the positive manner in which they conducted themselves. They were all a great credit to Rushmere Hall. For those parents and carers that attended the afternoon performance, I am sure you will agree that it was a very impressive musical display.
Each week we will update our blog with activities, pictures and comments on what we have been learning!
