I have been very impressed with the quality of the homework that is starting to be brought in to school. As you can see from the photo below, we have sampled cake made from a WWII recipe (which was delicious) and read some writing projects of a very high quality about life during this period of history. Faye Thomas' work was particularly impressive - well done Faye! for those of you that are still unsure what the homework topics are, I have asked the office to send home paper copies, so hopefully everyone will be fully aware of how to support their child at home.

We've been having a wonderful time in science learning all about sound and in our lesson this week, the children carried out 4 investigations; Flickering Flame, Rough Seas, Dancing Rice and Guitar Hero. The aim of the experiments was to observe how sound is made and to identify (if they could) how sound moves. It was most informative, if not a little wet and noisy at times!
Thank you to all of the parents that attended the 'Meet the teacher' meeting after school last Friday. It was lovely to meet with you all and I hope that you left feeling well informed about the year ahead. For those of you that were unable to attend, I have posted the power point that was shared at the meeting on the school website in the Year 4 area, so please take the time to look at this so that you are aware of what is going on in Year 4 for your child. During the meeting I gave out photo permission forms, so if you were unable to attend, these will be sent home with your child for you to sign and return to school as soon as possible. As always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
