This week in Nursery we have been looking at another Julia Donaldson book, 'A squash and a squeeze'. This has given us the opportunity to look at counting and estimating, for example, estimating how many toy animals would fit into a stable. It has also given us the opportunity to discuss the animals which you would find on a farm.
In the secret garden we acted out the story using masks and then in groups the children made one of the animals using twigs, leaves and grass. Next week we look at our last Julia Donaldson book, 'Tiddler', watch this space to find out what exciting activities we will be doing linked to this story!
