Tomorrow is European Language Day and Nursery will be talking, eating and dressing with Italy in mind. Please send your child in wearing the colours of the Italian flag (green, white and red). Please also make a member of staff aware if your child is unable to take part in the pasta tasting.
This week we continued to look at the story, 'Goldilocks and the three bears'. In the secret garden we acted out the story, then found some pictures of the story around the garden to then put into the correct order. The children did really well and demonstrated that they had listened carefully.
At snack time we had some porridge just like Goldilocks, it was very yummy! We also had a visit from the dentist, the children learned how to brush their teeth and what foods to avoid which cause damage to our teeth. We also had our Italy day which went really well, the children made flags and tried some Italian food. Can we remind you that children need coats as we go outside in all weathers. Thank you for your continued support. You can now apply for a school place at your chosen school for September 2020. Please apply online or complete the relevant form. The closing date for applications is 15th January 2020. Please visit www.suffolk.gov.uk/admissions.
Please note attending Rushmere Hall Nursery does not guarantee you a place at the school. This week we started our ‘In The Woods’ topic with Goldilocks and The Three Bears. We read the story, acted it out, used porridge in our sensory tray and used the puppets in the book corner to tell the story.
Next week we will carry on with this story, but we will be getting a visit from the Dental Nurse too, we will also be taking part in the European Day, Nursery will be learning about Italy. Wow! A great start to the term. All the children are settling in well and adjusting to the new surroundings and routines. Tapestry is now up and running, if you have given your email address but not heard anything please let a member of staff know.
Next week the children will start visiting the secret garden, so please check the weather to see if they need their coats and wellies. We also start library on Tuesday. If you’d like your child to borrow a library book, then please send in a blue book bag. You can get these from the office. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask, we are happy to help. If you are new to Rushmere Hall or a parent who already has children at the school, welcome.
This blog will give you a chance to see what your child is up to whilst in the nursery, it will also give information on upcoming events. We endeavour to blog once a week and you can make comments or ‘like’ blogs made, this will help us find out what you find useful, this can help with future blogs. We look forward to working together with you and your child over the next year. Any questions please do not hesitate to ask. Mrs Buckles and Mrs Cook |
