This week, in keeping with our 'People who help us' topic we had a visit from a dental nurse. The children learnt that they should brush their teeth twice a day with a pea-sized amount of toothpaste for two minutes, remembering to clean every tooth and their tongue. We learnt a song to help us remember this, “We clean our teeth for two minutes a day”, to the tune "Wheels on the bus”. The children were also told, not to rinse after brushing. They were told which snacks and drinks are healthy and which are unhealthy. We finished by reading a book about visiting the dentist and some children even got to dress up as a dentist and dental nurse!
With the sun continuing to shine, we have had lots of fun outside with the bikes, scooters, water and sand play. Inside we have been busy progressing with our mark making, numbers and shape work. The children are getting better with changing for PE, but if they can practise getting changed at home that would be great. We had our first visit to the secret garden which the children really enjoyed. This is such an amazing learning environment, we are very lucky! Comments are closed.
