This week we have been learning about Easter. We learnt that Christians all over the world celebrate Easter and people go to church for a special service. In the secret garden the children practiced their phonics by looking for letters. They then went onto making Easter eggs out of leaves, grass and twigs. We were also lucky enough to spot some lady birds.
The children have also had the opportunity to use weighing scales and have practiced using vocabulary such as heavy and light. There's just one week left before the Easter break, hasn't this term flown by?!

This week we have continued with our 'weather' theme and this week focused on rain. The children learnt about the water cycle and how water is needed for plants to grow. In the secret garden we went on a leaf hunt, seeing what different leaves we could find and which type of tree they came from. The children also planted some wild flower seeds which we hope to see in bloom very soon.
Thank you to all of you who made it to the stay and play session. It was fantastic to see so many of you. Over the next two weeks we will be focusing on Easter, with many different activities planned. This Friday is the Spring/Easter Stay and Play for both morning and afternoon children. The morning starts at 9.00am and finishes at 11am. The afternoon starts at 1.00pm and finishes at 3.00pm.
Please be aware that the nursery can only accommodate 1 adult per child and younger siblings are discouraged due to the nature of the activities. Come along with your child for some creative fun! All the children who attended the nursery today, decorated a pancake with healthy toppings. Then they enjoyed eating it during snack time. Yum!
Next week we will be focusing on Spring which will run along-side the other topics we are covering this term.
We will also be thinking about being kind and thoughtful. The book we will be reading is Have You Filled A Bucket Today? We will be discussing how our actions affect others and how we can fill our buckets with kindness. |
