This week we went on an Autumn walk. Looking for changes in nature. The leaves have started to change colour and we found lots of them on the floor, so we collected some for our Autumn tray.
Why not go on a nature walk during the half term break and see what you can find? Have fun! See you all back on Monday 29th October. ![]() It doesn't seem possible that it is the last week of half term already, where did it go! This week we move away from our People Who Help Us topic and look at the Owl Babies story. This book focuses on 3 baby owls left by their mother whilst she hunts for food. We will focus on feelings and the dark, especially now the nights are drawing in! This Thursday is a non uniform day, the school is raising money for the Rainbow Trust, so find your bright clothes! Also this week is only 4 days for the children as we have a school training day on Friday. This week I set up an Autumn tray, this is part of the theme that runs along side our 'People Who Help Us' topic. The children have been fascinated by the pumpkin in there. So we had a discussion about where pumpkins come from and there were some interesting answers, including I had made it from orange playdough! We needed to find out where they came from. Luckily Miss Hutchings has been growing pumpkins as part of her gardening club, so we went for a walk. Guess what! We found an enormous one and soon spotted tiny ones too. We all decided pumpkins grow on plants outside. Whilst on our walk we also saw gigantic spiders webs and huge spiders spinning their silky webs, we counted 12 hairy creatures and talked a lot about sizes. It was quite an adventure!
Why not go on an adventure too and find something interesting to look at. Have fun! |
