Thank you to all the adults who attended the Stay and Play session last Thursday. It was lovely for the children to share their classroom with you and for you to take part in all the craft activities together. ![]() This week and next week we are learning all about one of the children's favourite subjects birthdays! On Monday the children went to the Secret Garden and made mud birthday cakes. Next week they will be getting ready for Gruffalo's birthday party on the Friday. The children will come to nursery as usual and no special clothes are needed! Next week will be very busy, as Thursday is Stay and Play. This is the day when you can stay with your child and take part in lots of activities. The morning session runs from 9.00 until 11.00 and the afternoon 1.00 until 3.00.
We look forward to seeing you at the session. This week we have been learning all about Guy Fawkes Night. On Monday the children visited the secret garden where they made mini bonfires and even got to toast and eat some marshmallows! We also watched a safety video by Fireman Sam on how to keep safe on Guy Fawkes Night.
In the classroom we made some chocolate firework sticks which looked and tasted fantastic. The children also produced some lovely firework paintings. We enjoyed hearing about the children's experiences of Guy Fawkes Night, from visits out to watching displays from the comfort of your homes. For the next two weeks we are learning all about birthdays, we have lots of fun activities planned! This week we have been learning about Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights. We decorated Rangoli patterns and made Diva lamps which look great! ![]() Next week we are looking at Fireworks.
