The theme this week at school is exploring science and also looking at Minibeasts. As part of our science activity we looked at colour mixing. We talked about Primary Colours - RED YELLOW BLUE and discovered that when we mixed them together we can make Secondary Colours - ORANGE PURPLE GREEN.
We also looked at the artist Wassily Kandinsky, in particular his painting called 'Concentric Circles.' We talked about how he used primary and secondary colours in his work. We then created our own 'concentric circles' by painting different primary colours on a paper plate, which in turn created secondary colours where the two paint colours meet. We used our paintings to make a shell for our snails, adding a body and some eyes. Maybe you could explore colour mixing in the style of Kandinsky by creating your own snail shells.
