The children have coped brilliantly with their first full week of school and have really embraced everything we have asked of them; even if they have been rather tired. This week, the children have been learning from Goldilocks and the Three Bears, where they have been sequencing the story in Literacy and ordering objects by size in Numeracy. They have also worked hard at producing class rules and learning the different routines; there's certainly been lots going on! We have all been particularly pleased with how well the children are managing the dinner hall and getting themselves organised. They have definitely got more confident (and quicker!) as the week has progressed. We had our first Celebration Assembly on Tuesday, during which time we celebrated the first 3 birthdays of the year group, began to learn a new song and shared a story. It will also be a time where we celebrate success. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend the Meet the Teacher sessions. We hope that you found them valuable. If you were unable to attend, you will be able to access the powerpoint that was shared by your child's class teacher on the Reception page of the school website.
Each Tuesday we will have a 'show and tell' session with the children, where we will ask them to bring in something from home; this week they have been asked to bring in a teddy. The sign will be displayed on boards outside of the cloakrooms on the playground each week, to advise you what the children are being asked to bring in, but it will also get a mention on the weekly blog. Finally, a gentle reminder please to label all of your child's belongings. Thank you so much for your support so far and if you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to speak to us.
