As part of the science - colour mixing theme at school this week, the children made their own colourful pinwheels (or windmills).
To make you will need... a square of paper (or thin card) colouring pencils or crayons scissors hole punch paper fastener (or split pin) straw (or stick) We started with a square of paper and coloured each section a different primary colour (red, yellow, blue) and also a secondary colour (green). We then carefully cut towards the centre from each corner but stopping short of the middle of the square. then we hole punched a hole in each corner and a also a hole in the middle. We then folded each each section towards the centre and fastened with a split pin (paper fastener). we then attached a straw (or stick). Then held them in the wind and watched them spin. Perhaps you could have a go at making your own colourful windmill too. Comments are closed.
