The theme at school this week is Farms and Farm Animals. Yesterday we shared the story, 'What the Ladybird Heard' by Julia Donaldson. We looked at the repetitive phrases and learnt parts of the story, such as, 'The cow said moo.'
We then had to find the words to make sentences from the story. The words were hidden all over the Secret Garden and once we'd found a word we had to stick it onto the correct place on our sentence sheet.
Once we'd found all the words and stuck them in the right order, we read the sentences (using our phonic sounds to help us) and we used them to retell the story.
Maybe you could go play a 'scrambled sentence game', by copying 2-3 sentences from your favourite book. Cut out and hide each word from the sentences. Try to find all the words and put them in the correct order to complete the sentences.
