''This week we have read the 'The Lighthouse Keepers Lunch.' This is a story about a lighthouse keeper called Mr. Grinling. At night time he lives in a small white cottage perched high on the cliffs, and in the daytime he rows out to his lighthouse to clean and polish the light. Every day Mr Grinling tucks into a delicious lunch, prepared by his wife, Mrs Grinling. But Mr Grinling isn't the only one who enjoys the tasty food, so Mrs Grinling has to think of a way to stop the greedy seagulls from stealing the lighthouse keeper's lunch. I'm sure your children will be able to tell you what ingenious idea Mrs Grinling comes up with! This weeks activities were centred around this week's book. In the secret garden the children had to find different food and drink items and decide if they were healthy or unhealthy. We also made sandwiches and continued to work on our number knowledge, writing and phonics.
