Being Sun Safe!
You know what its like in this country... the first bit of sunshine and we are super excited! We kick off the wellington boots and raid the loft for the flip flops! The neighbours crank up the barbecue and start mowing the lawn! He's wearing his string vest and she has popped on last years bikini! Both bodies have not seen daylight since last summer! Whilst the sunshine is a welcome change from the grim British weather, it is important that we do not forget the important messages about the sun and more importantly make sure we protect our children from the dangers of it! Its easy to get carried away when we see the sun shining! And... as its so rare... we are often unprepared for it! As weather that resembles summer is starting to appear, we thought it would be useful to remind the children about the dangers of the sun and what we can do to be safe in the sun. HAT, SPLAT, WRAP, COOL IN THAT! Is our quick and easy way to remind the children about how to protect themselves from the harmful rays of the sun. We do lots of things in school to remind children about the sun. Staff remind children about wearing hats, putting on their glasses and taking water outside with them. They remind the children about staying in the shade to cool down. This year with have registered to become an accredited school for Sun Safety. More information will be coming soon! Mr Fykin |
