Welcome to the Rushmere Fundraising Team.
You may, or may not know, that we have been up and running since March 2016. We’re a group of parents who have come together to pool our time and resources to help provide those added extras for the school, as well as lots of fun for our children. In the last few months about £1,000 has been collected through the very popular cake sales, non uniform days, colouring competitions and the grandparents’ tea party, which the mayor Roger Fern attended.
At the moment we have about 30 volunteers on board, but we firmly believe that with as many parents as possible being able to give a bit of time as and when they can to support events, we can all do some really great things for the school.
The group is co-ordinated by Hazel Gudgin who has three children at the school. She said: “We’d be really interested to hear from parents who can offer their skills or time to help us raise as much money as we can for the school. “There are no regular meetings and we don’t need people to commit to every event – just as much as they can, whenever they feel they can. “If it’s coming up with an idea for an event, spending a few minutes at the gate in the morning collecting cake sale donations or helping out at a school disco, everything helps!”

What has the money been used for so far?
The money raised so far is being used to buy educational equipment for the secret garden (formerly The Orchard). This is a fantastic place for pupils to learn about and enjoy nature.
Money is also being used to buy some benches for the double pond area at the back of the school. If you have any ideas of what you think the school needs and what we should be fundraising for, don’t hesitate to get in touch and let us know.

How to get involved...
If you think you can spare any time or have any skills which might help us (poster design etc) or if you have any ideas about fundraising events, email us at [email protected] or complete the form below and press send. Hazel will send out regular messages through email and WhatsApp letting you know which events are coming up and which ones volunteers are needed for.
If you can’t see anything you can help out with at that time, that’s fine, just because you’re on the email doesn’t mean you’re duty bound to help out. Life is stressful enough without trying to squeeze in extra things, so please just help if you can. Thanks for taking the time to read this and we look forward to having you on board.
