At Rushmere Hall, we have an addition to our curriculum, called our Toolkit for Life. We have written this because we want to build our children’s general knowledge and life skills. This learning will run alongside normal lessons and will also happen on the playground, in assemblies, in clubs or during those quiet moments in class. For example, we will play music as the children come in and out of assembly, or teach the children games on the playground.
We wrote the Toolkits ourselves and so they are unique to Rushmere Hall; we hope they reflect the needs and interests of our children. We really enjoyed writing our Toolkits and we are excited about the opportunities it will give our children to broaden their experience of the world. We hope you enjoy using the Toolkits at home but remember, this is not homework, rather the Toolkits should give you ideas for activities and skills to share with your child.
